The Importance of Fatherhood
Gentlemen, if you hunger for intellectual stimulation and spiritual growth, along with some good food and wine, the Men’s Supper Club is the place for you. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. in the Garnsworthy room.
This fall we have been looking at selections from Eric Metaxas’s volume Life, God, and Other Small Topics – a collection of essays from Socrates and the City, a forum that asked major Christian thinkers to ponder today’s most important questions. On January 13, we will look at Dr. Paul Vitz’s talk about the importance of fatherhood.
How necessary are fathers? What value do they bring to their families? How do they make a difference to the live of their children? What effect do fathers have on society in general? Dr. Paul Vitz talks about fathers, about God as “Father”, and why they are important, socially, spiritually, and psychologically.
If you can, please read the chapter – The Importance of Fatherhood – beforehand. If you would like help finding a copy of this book please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to attend, please send a note to Damien Benedict so we can plan for the meal. We do ask a nominal fee to cover the cost of the dinner but it’s not mandatory. And if you haven’t read the chapter – come anyway!
