July 26: Barbecue for Sandy Bay

Food, Fellowship and Fundraising

Following the 10 a.m. Morning Praise service, enjoy a burger or hotdog on the patio, and help us raise funds for the Jamaica school rehabilitation project. We’re inviting parishioners to bring favourite side dishes to complete the meal.

We are now raising funds for the outreach project to repair and improve the public school at Sandy Bay, Jamaica. The school is in desperate need of general repair, classroom support, teacher professional development, literacy assistance and role modelling. Most acute is their need for adequate bathroom facilities to accommodate the six hundred children who attend the school – currently only half of the facilities are serviceable.

We hope to raise $12,000 by August 1, so that repair and installation work can be completed in time for the new school year. If the spirit moves you to donate to this cause please give a cheque or cash clearly marked “Jamaica Project” to the church office or in the collection plate. We are also accepting donated Air Miles and Aeroplan points to help with our handy volunteer’s travel expenses.

For more information about this project and how you can help, please speak to Michele McDonald, or Damien and Janet Benedict.

If you can’t make it to the BBQ, you can make your donation online! Many thanks for all your support and encouragement!
