It’s like Christmas in the Summer! In Children’s Ministry, we are making a video to tell the nativity story – a narrated re-enactment starring the children.
As you may know, I spent some time in New Zealand, and I am excited to share what I have learned from St. Paul’s Anglican Church Auckland about producing our very own Nativity Story video. We are working to make this happen in the children’s ministry ‘Christmas in the Summer at SJYM’ project. Prayers are welcome!
I am grateful to Simone Nieuwolt, Paul Heersink, Stephen Monk, Gillian Mitchell, and Chantal Sathi for their support of this project as well as the youth summer leaders. From June 27th to September 13th the children are meeting in the children’s chapel for a time together and to view an adaptation of the nativity story so that they get good ideas of what we are trying to accomplish. The youth leaders are taking those children who not part of the project, and others when they are not involved in the production, for outdoor activities. In the children’s chapel, the children are involved in performing and in audio- and video-recording.
Parent volunteers can help the project by signing up to help oversee the children in their activities – of course their presence can help us ensure that each child has an opportunity to be in the production.
Many of the children have ready had release forms signed – there will be new forms for those who do not have one already. If you do not wish to have your child in the production please let me know.
Thank you for your support!
