Youth Room is Ready

Making a Space for Ourselves

The new, permanent home of the Youth Ministry, following renovations.

St. John’s now has a permanent youth room, a place which will impact our younger generation and help them spiritually develop in a healthy way.

Thanks to the efforts of three youth leaders and ten members of the grades 6 – 8 class, who volunteered during the summer to paint, move furniture, and decorate the youth room so it will be ready for September. This was the first time our youth have participated in a major painting project, and all who helped enjoyed creating a new space as well as great conversations over pizza and snacks. When our youth see young adults investing their time doing something related to Christianity, it shows them that their leaders take their faith and church seriously.

How the room looked before the renovation

Thanks to all who participated in the project, with a special thanks to Mark, Bill, Tim, Nathan and Lavenya. We are still looking for donations for the youth room. If you have any sporting equipment that you are willing to part with, we would be grateful to have them:

  • outdoor hockey nets
  • air hockey table
  • soccer balls
  • volleyball
  • frisbees
  • hula hoops
  • tennis ball packs
  • baseball bats and balls

We would also be appreciative of any donations of the following for the room:

  • indoor plants
  • black chairs
  • bean bag chairs
  • CD player
  • outdoor Christmas lights

We are looking forward to another year of fellowship, spiritual exploration and growth, and projects and activities in our newly renovated space.

Blessings,
Chantal Sathi
Director of Children
