Sunday Morning Transformed
The big news are the changes to Sunday mornings at St. John’s, with a new set of offerings: the Sacred Table at 9 a.m., the Open Door at 10:30, and the Forum at 11:30. In this issue of The Link, Rev Drew discusses why we are making such a dramatic shift in our Sunday worship. The church must serve the people as they are, and in our current culture, this means a significant number of people who have had no significant spiritual formation – no teaching from the bible, no regular worship, no grounding in a faith tradition. However, lack of formation does not mean lack of interest in spiritual matters. Thus St. John’s is transforming to answer the needs of the new generations, as well as continuing to honour the traditions of our Anglican heritage.
The new offerings on Sunday morning are described in more detail in the article Sunday Morning Nine ‘Til Noon.
There’s Life Here
Sunday Morning is not the only news at St. John’s. There’s a life in the church that is reflected in a broad range of news items and thoughtful commentary, and, of course, there’s a complete schedule of Christmas events and services.
