A special day of worship and celebration
St. John’s is 200 years old this week, and we celebrate this Sunday, September 18, with two distinctive services. All parishioners, former parishioners, former clergy, and friends of St. John’s are warmly invited to attend.
Sunday Sept. 18, 9:00 a.m.: Nineteenth Century Morning Prayer
Experience how worship was done in the 1800s, featuring the 1815 Prayer Book, period music and a hymn on the 1840s barrel organ – with the church set up as if it were 1816.
Sunday Sept. 18, 10:30 a.m.: A Service of Thanksgiving
The church will be transformed to modernity for a joyful celebration of the contemporary eucharist with the Archbishop. The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario will be attending. Music will include handbells, band, organ and choir – and singing!
