Looking at the year ahead: have your say.
Once a year, the congregation of St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church is invited to gather with the leadership to review the accomplishments of the past year and to discuss the plans for the year ahead.
Our Annual Vestry Meeting takes place in the sanctuary on Sunday, October 23, 2016 following The Open Door. The Vestry will receive reports, review the 2015-16 audited financial statements, and consider the budget and plans for the 2016-17 fiscal year. (There will be no Forum on October 23 due to the meeting.)
The vestry report is now available – please click here to download it or pick up a copy in the foyer starting Sunday October 9.
Lunch will be provided and a free will offering will be taken to help cover expenses. We encourage young families to bring their children – there will be a special children’s program including a pizza lunch.
All parishioners are encouraged to attend. You are eligible to attend if you meet the Diocesan requirements at St. John’s York Mills.
Canon 14 of the Diocese of The Anglican Church of Toronto outlines the requirements for persons to vote at a parish’s annual vestry. In essence, each individual should be prepared to declare that they have been a member of the Anglican Church of Canada and the St. John’s congregation for at least three (3) months; have attended worship services on a regular basis; are over the age of sixteen (16) years; and, have not voted nor intend to vote at any other vestry during 2014-15.
