An evening out at the movies:
This month, the SJYM Men’s Supper Club is stepping out to the movie house … and inviting the women to join them! Indeed, everyone is welcome at this special event.
We’re going to a screening of the new film The Case for Christ, which is based on the book by journalist Lee Strobel. We’ll be at the Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan, near Highways 7 and 400. The movie starts at 6:55 p.m.; suggest you arrive early to buy tickets ($7.99 per person).
An atheist tests the evidence
The Case for Christ is based on the true story of Lee Strobel, an award-winning journalist.
Everything is going Lee’s way at work. His work as an investigative reporter has paid off with a promotion to the legal editor at the Chicago Tribune. His home life is a different story, with a crumbling marriage. His wife, Leslie, has found new faith in Christ, and this has alarmed Lee who is an avowed atheist.
Lee is determined to apply his investigative skills which served him so well at work to the biggest story in in personal life – debunking the claims of Christianity and saving his marriage. His research turns up unexpected results that challenge the foundation of his knowledge.
