Once a year, the congregation of St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church is invited to gather with the leaders to review the accomplishments of the past year and to discuss the plans for the year ahead.
Our Annual Vestry Meeting takes place in the sanctuary on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 11:45 a.m. following The Open Door. The Vestry will receive reports, review the 2016-17 audited financial statements, and consider the budget and plans for the 2017-18 fiscal year. (There will be no Forum on October 22 due to the meeting.)
Copies of the Vestry report are now available in the foyer of the church. The report contains messages from the clergy and from the ministry groups, followed by financial results and a proposed budget.
A light lunch will be provided before the meeting. There will also a special program for the children, featuring a pizza lunch, running at the same time as the Vestry Meeting.
All parishioners are encouraged to attend. You are eligible to attend if you meet the Diocesan requirements at St. John’s York Mills.
Canon 14 of the Diocese of The Anglican Church of Toronto outlines the requirements for persons to vote at a parish’s annual vestry. In essence, each individual should be prepared to declare that they have been a member of the Anglican Church of Canada and the St. John’s congregation for at least three (3) months; have attended worship services on a regular basis; are over the age of sixteen (16) years; and, have not voted nor intend to vote at any other vestry during the current fiscal year.
