Pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, prepared and served by the Scouts, has been a long-standing tradition at St. Leonard’s Church. This year, St. Leonard’s welcomes the other congregations of the Minster – St. John’s York Mills Church and Yonge Lawrence Fellowship – to join the feast.
The Scouts who regularly meet at St. Leoonard’s are preparing and serving the pancakes. There are two seatings for dinner: 7:15 and 7:45 p.m., on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
The Blessed Banditos, who perform worship music at St. John’s, are providing a musical accompaniment to the pancake supper. It’s your opportunity for good food, musical entertainment, and friendly fellowship.
Shrove Tuesday – The last day before Lent
Lent is a time of fasting, of going without, of prayer, and of penance as we reflect on the past year and set intentions for the year ahead. Shrove Tuesday is traditionally a day of feasting as we try to finish up food that cannot be consumed during Lent, and pancakes been a part of that tradition for several centuries.
Take part in a tradition – enjoy a fun and filling pancake supper!
