Praying the Anglican Rosary:
This month, the Lychgate group is meeting at SSJD, 233 Cummer Ave, where we’ll do a contemporary take on an ancient tradition.
In many faith traditions, beads or pebbles have long been used to guide prayers. Historically they have not been a part of Anglican prayer life, however, in the 1980s, Lynn Bauman who is a leader in the Episcopalian church in the U.S., introduced them to her contemplative prayer group. Since then, interest has been growing in incorporating rosaries into prayer lives.
At our monthly meeting, we’ll be looking at this “new tradition” – What the rosary is, why you would use it, and how to use it in prayer.
