On March 9, The Rev. Canon Dr. George Sumner of Wycliffe College comes to our pulpit to speak on Jesus in the wilderness, on temptations, and on choices.
Dr. Sumner earned a Ph.D in systematic theology from Yale University, with a focus on missiology – they study of the mandate and the mission of the church. He has written on the relationship of Christianity to other religions, the theology of ordination, and most recently a theological interpretation of the Book of Daniel.
On Sunday Dr. Sumner will lead us into the wilderness with Jesus. Lent is traditionally a time of wilderness, when we become aware of the temptations in our lives and of the choices we have to make.
