The SJYM Worship Team is a glorious combination of organist, choir and band — with the support of our Tech Team, of course. Our large group of volunteer musicians supports worship at The Sacred Table (9 a.m.) and The Open Door (10:30 a.m.) with traditional hymns, contemporary praise-and-worship songs, and liturgical music.
Our choir is an inclusive, volunteer-based vocal ensemble, made up of singers of different ages and skill levels. If you have a passion for singing or are interested in learning how to sing as part of a choir, then look no further: this is the choir for you! There is no audition to begin and the ability to read music is not a prerequisite.
Our band regularly includes guitar, bass, percussion, keyboard and violin, and frequently showcases instruments such as trumpet, saxophone, mandolin and accordion. If you play an instrument with a certain level of proficiency, we’d love to hear from you — we welcome every kind of musical instrument onto the stage!
If you have an interest in joining the SJYM Worship Team or if you have any general inquiries about the music ministries here at Saint John’s York Mills, please contact the music director, Patrick Dewell: firstname.lastname@example.org.
