Flemingdon Park Ministry (FPM) is an Anglican presence in the Toronto community of Flemingdon Park and area, that ministers in Christ’s name to people’s spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs. FPM serves a population of 27,000 from 130 ethnic groups who speak 90 different languages. Among its programs and partnerships is a busy Drop-In, Seniors’ and Women’s Groups, After School Programs and Summer Camp for youth, and Food & Friendship Nights. Its STAR Project offers a transformative process for job-seekers. With more than 10,000 visits each year, FPM empowers the people of this unique community to access their dreams.
The FPM Food Bank is now independently incorporated. An historic agreement is in place that involves three different Muslim organizations which assist in management and operations. When planning to donate, remember the particular needs of the community: tuna, pasta and pasta sauce, baby formula and baby food, and diapers. In general, the food bank likes to receive staples of rice, flour, and oil in large amounts, which it then puts in smaller containers for distribution.
For more information or to make a donation to FPM, please contact Rev. Helena Houldcroft at (416) 425-1841 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
