God Sends Help
June 8 – June 15 – June 22
Jesus’s time on earth has come to an end, and He has now ascended into heaven. The disciples know that they have been given a big job to do: to travel, meet with lots of people, and spread the news – the news of who Jesus was, what He had done, and what it means for all people.
It will be a big job, indeed. There are so many people in so many places to talk to. Many of those people will not like the news they hear, and will not like the disciples. But the disciples are up to the job – with help. A few days after Jesus had gone up into heaven, the disciples are meeting in a room when that help arrives – from God.
We will be reading pages 326 to 333 of The Jesus Storybook Bible, the story of the Pentecost, drawn from Acts 1-5 and from John 15.
